Thank you for your advice. Then I won't go after a run-away sock, but look for another one. That's why I buy the same kind.
But actually I have experienced it long ago when I was so busy working around the house when my children were small, but nowadays, I try to avoid housework as much as possible. So, my socks stay with me.
An interesting post. I can't say that I've walked out of my socks, but you've caught my curiosity.
Your post did make me think of a bad laundry day at the public laundry. I set a load of whites at high for too long in an older set of dryers. The short of it is most of the laundry was sort of burned, not black or sizzling, but altered. The whole lot was yellowed and a few lacy things were ruined. One of my favorite socks were crinkled up and felt like plastic. I tried to recover them with water at home. Nope. They had been transformed into something horrible by all the heat. My socks burned out on me.
Burned out socks. I have accidentally done that with jumpers, Rebb. Shame about the rest of your laundry.
Felting wool is done by high temperatures, not very useful though, if the end product is not a piece of cloth for creating something. It's the last thing anyone wants to do with a jumper or cardigan, or wool trousers, unless you really do want to felt and shrink them at the same time!

Can't say I have, but you're probably right. ;)
Ah, Jennyta, the joys of an experience that may come!

I've had socks seemingly attempt an escape from my feet...would that be the same kind of thing?
Hi Axe,
Escaping socks. It certainly is an alternative view of the same theme.
clever! :)

Hi Keiko,
You have just offered up a fabulous reason for avoiding housework. Great stuff! Isn't it amazing what magic socks can perform
:)
You're the expert on socks!
Thanks for your vote of confidence. I'll work on it.

An interesting, albeit brief, post!
I can't say that I have either.

Hello Mr F,
The joys of unexpected experiences, is probably the most succinct way of thinking about wandering socks.
