NOVEMBER SKIES IN THE NORTH

For once, I was spontaneous with my camera.  When I remember it, I usually take pictures with a plan in mind. It occurred to me, while I gazed at the skies above from outside our house late this afternoon, that I could try taking some pictures. Unsure of how much time I had to try to capture what I saw,  I quickly retrieved the camera from its resting place and set it up to take the shots.  It's always the same when you rush, everything seems to take longer to organise.   But, the wonderful sky views with the golden and fiery lights were still there!

A slight change of position and the sky scene is different

...and again

Changes and variations of light by the moment.

Thank you so much Keiko. I had not thought of what was happening as real time art. Of course, you are right, just about everything we might perceive can be.

Usually I don’t care that much for pictures of the sky because just the experience of contemplating the sky is so much more awe inspiring than most pictures are. But these shots are really beautiful, and interesting too.

Hi Snowbird,

Thank you for your kind comments. The sky scene was rather rare; it might have something to do with the unseasonably mild temperatures we have had this week in the far North, according to suggestions in the newspapers.

Thank you for your comments on the pictures Shimon. I value your thoughts. It seems, from reports I have seen today, that the sky and its colourations here in the North of Scotland, were out of the ordinary.

Sadly, there was no sign of what had been, even early this morning. I am pleased I managed to capture the essence of what attracted me.

Lovely photos, ZACL. I love the colors--and the different moods you've captured

Hello Rebb,

You are so right about the different moods of the sky that night, captured in a short space of time.

I was surprised and delighted at how well my camera responded to the task of taking the pictures. Thank you for your comment.
