WHAT A STUPID EUPHEMISM!

The arrogance, or is it ignorance, or both, of  some web-based suppliers is highly annoying.  Having ordered a specific item, you are sent something else, not at all as described on the web site, nor as described on the invoice.  As it is, they have the means to communicate with the customer to check if an alternative item would be acceptable, but, they choose not to, hoping they'll get away with selling what they send.

When querying the product that arrived, mis-described on the invoice, as if it were the item originally ordered,  I was told that what had been ordered was no longer available as their supplier had "upgraded" the item.  If I had wanted this so-called upgrade, I could have ordered the same but unwanted design which was also on their website, described as what it was.

My dander was up, I was not going to be fobbed off.  At my expense I had to download a 'reasons for the return' form, which I completed in no uncertain terms, and then had the inconvenience of returning the unwanted purchase for a refund.

Upgrade..... my foot!  What a stupid euphemism. I do not think much of the customer service.  They picked on the wrong person, if they thought they were going to get away with this, admittedly inexpensive element of the sale, (part of a larger order) through customer inertia.

SALE OF THE CENTURY?

The sales and auction site Ebay had a rather unusual item uploaded for auction on its British site; someone's grandmother.  Granny was described  amongst other things, as...... can be difficult to get on with, but not bad looking,

It is no surprise however, to hear that the listing was removed by Ebay.  When asked for a comment, the Ebay  representative stated that they do not auction or sell human beings.
