SALT OF THE EARTH AND THE SEAS AND PLENTY OF SKY

Everything was covered in a layer of grey dirty-looking salt after the recent severe storms.  What you see out of this window is the remainder of the snowfall we also had. I got the hose out and rinsed off the car so I could see where I was going through the windscreen . The salt covering made it like I was looking through smog. The windows here at home were equally as opaque. It cut down the access of the little bit of daylight we have in the Winter. This is a picture taken through the window, just after the first attempt at cleaning the windows with the hose spray. Stronger stuff was obviously called for.

I was struck by the variation of colours, density and the portents in the skies on this morning. There were totally different skies between the front and the back of our house, the one thing in common you could see, was the amount of movement and wind up in the cloudscape.

On the other side and over the fields was a sunrise.

The skies were fascinating though threatening. They gave us plenty of warning that there was a weather event to come.

As I watched and waited the sky scene very swiftly changed. Then as I turned towards the North I saw this;

It was like a refracting bolt. And yes......we have the weather, we are having the threatened weather, and there is plenty more to come.
