EYES AGOG AND EARS TWITCHING

Broadcasting bods get away with so many gaffs that I despair.  I sit, either ears rigid, or eyes agog and ears twitching, in sheer disbelief at what I have heard at times. It is really comforting to be in company with someone else who can confirm I've seen and heard the ridiculous nonsense that can gush forth.

Some recent examples;
"The outcome of tonight's meeting is yesterday";
"There are two teams playing, by this evening, there will be a winner.  Without a doubt, there will be a winner".
 (For all we know, there could have been a tie).

I wonder Mr F, if I am becoming less patient or just plain intolerant. I will admit, I have never suffered fools gladly, (now that is subjective of course)!

you could fill volumes with such senseless broadcasting remarks but the sporty types do seem to commit more than their fair share of idiotic verbal offences.

I think you make a useful point there Ax. Sporty types seem to make a habit of not engaging mouth with brain very regularly - though they are not the only offenders - in the hopes, I think that they may commit one of those stunning comments that might be repeated for all time.
