WILL IT OR WON'T IT BE GLORIOUS

We had a letter this week giving us, we were told 'good news'.   After some fiddling around with cables, connections and switches, from the 27th of January 2013, our internet service provider advises that we would have greatly improved broadband speeds.  'People have given feed back of their experiences, and they have been seeing 50% improvement in the service'.  Oh goody, goody - but wait a minute...  they don't say 50% of what, neither do they say whether the level of improvement will be a standard uniform level for all their customers.

We were regularly measuring a download speed of .3 Mg not so long ago, which, we reckoned was equal to dial-up levels of yesteryear.  We did complain to our internet service provider, did the tests that were requested, following which, there was an improvement to about 2-4Mg dependent on the  time of day and the day of the week.  I wonder therefore, what  glorious 50% increase  we will have.  Might it be an increase on .3Mg or,  the 2-4 Mg?

Very tongue in cheek - your scepticism is well-founded, let's hope that the delivery is better than expected!

Mmmmmmmm....yes, I see your point. We're always being promised something better which isn't always the case.

Fingers crossed there will be an improvement!xxxxx

Mine is only a steady 4.5Mbps. It did go higher that that for a while but proved unreliable with it disconnecting all too frequently. Flighty xx
