WRIGGLE OUT OF OWNING THE JEANS - IMPOSSIBLE!

If you're going to be a 'fixer' for cash - and not that much either - then you definitely have to make sure you don't get your jeans singed in the conflagration you've created, nor should you dump them in a nearby bin.  Incidentally, I am rather surprised you did not notice you had dropped your cell phone in the ruins, during your haste to depart the scene of crime.

Is it any wonder than the law caught up with you and your mates, and rather swiftly too. You could hardly deny the phone was yours, but you did.  You even said that you'd lost it and someone else must have dropped it at the site of your criminal activities.

The jeans...well, it was a bit difficult wriggling out of ownership of those. There were some tell tale signs of burns on your legs, in the same places where the jeans were 'singed,' and by the way, your DNA was all over the inside and outside of them.

You, your mates, and the guy who paid for the job,  got your just desserts.

RAOUL MOAT: A MAN WHO KILLED AND WOUNDED

Raoul Moat. The person who had this name, in a very short space of time enjoyed a certain level of notoriety in the U.K.  He engineered, by his behaviour, a large and expensive manhunt, a necessary hunt.  Remember, we will all have to pay for it.

Moat's state of mind and his personality can be analysed to kingdom come, where presumably he now rests along with the dead victim of his actions. To do what he did, there was some pre-planning, there were accomplices who looked after him, and in all likelihood, supplied Moat with his lethal tools. Once Moat started the roller-coaster of destruction, it was unlikely he would be able to stop it. He had probably worked out beforehand in his own mind, how the brakes would be slammed on.

It should not be forgotten, this man left many victims. His own children, will no doubt, learn to survive their father, I hope they do it well. Then, there is one policeman and an ex-girlfriend who have been shot and injured by him. In addition, there are the families and friends of these people. They all hurt and grieve. Moat has a brother and an uncle that we have heard from, they will experience emotional turmoil too.

Due to the media playing the angles and distortions game here, anything to keep the story going, sell papers, gain or keep audiences, with absolutely no care as to the effects on others who have been hurt, Moat is suddenly sparking a posthumous persona as a victim of every control structure in society. Lest we forget, this man worked as a bouncer; he was not averse to using power and controlling others.

The spree killings in Cumbria, ( in the North of England)  a very recent one day horror, has not, as far as I know, resulted in the perpetrator being venerated as a victim. Setting up Moat to be a heroic victim in his end, is a distorted, vainglorious coup de grace.

VENABLES AS A CHILD, KILLED A CHILD - RECALLED.

John Venables AKA........? one of two boys who were convicted of killing toddler James Bulger when just aged ten years old, themselves, has been out in the community on licence for about 9 years. These men, as that is now what they are, are 27 years old. There would have been all the usual parole licence conditions and undoubtedly a few additional ones. His mate, of a similar age would, like him, have been living in the community for a similar length of time. We haven't heard anything about him, so it is probably reasonable to assume that he is abiding by the regulations under which he has his relative freedom. Note, I use the qualifying term 'relative freedom'. The Media have been pushing hard to be informed of the reasons for the recall into custody.

Because of the kind of crime committed, these two young men will be required to fulfil the terms of any parole licence, without fail. A missing of a supervision session without good reason - probably needing evidence - not complying with an instruction about travel, visits and contacts elsewhere, not informing the probation service of changes of address, details of whom they associate and live with, their work and so on, perhaps even some kind of curfew order, would all have to be strictly adhered to. Keeping on the right side of law and order within tight parameters is an over-arching requirement.

It is not usual to publicize reasons for recall. Of course, if there is the possibility of some legal proceeding pending, it would be inappropriate to divulge that information into the public domain. Venables AKA...? will have to answer to a parole board enquiry, also, it is highly likely that lawyers for all parties will be pouring over attendant issues. None of the principles to obtain an unbiased hearing of any kind should be compromised by feeding the curiosity of the media.

IT IS OUTSIDE THE LAW...IS IT?

Ye Gods! If we are thrown into the jaws of our regional news producers I dread to think how the presenting standards,(leave aside item selections)will evolve.

Last Night we heard about a guy who was shot dead while sitting in his car in a shopping store car park. Background information told us that this guy had been lucky to survive a similar shooting once before.

Okay, so far so good.

We then hear that this character has a history of kidnapping, serious assaults and connections with drug dealing.

The reporter continues: "This crime is a serious one, and is outside the law".

Pardon?
